Product Description
Bring a little good luck, folklore and whimsical personality to your ornament collection with the Bert Anderson Gnome Ornament (BAC 198). With his cheerful expression and distinctive character, this little gnome makes a charming keepsake for gardeners, farmers, gnome collectors, families and anyone who could use a bit of good fortune.
Gnomes have long been associated with good luck and protection. In European folklore, they were believed to watch over the earth, gardens, crops and livestock. Over time, these legendary little protectors found their way into homes and holiday traditions as symbols of good fortune, warmth and happiness.
This smiling Bert Anderson gnome puts a playful spin on that tradition. Display him on a Christmas tree during the holidays or enjoy his personality as part of a gnome, garden or folk-art collection.
Like the other characters in the Bert Anderson Collection, this ornament begins with Bert Anderson's original sculpture. Bert's work is known for combining sophisticated sculptural detail with an unexpected sense of humor. Rather than beginning with a completely predetermined character, Bert allows the personality of each piece to develop as he works with the clay—giving his designs their wonderfully individual expressions and unmistakable charm.
The original design is reproduced in durable resin and individually hand-painted, allowing the sculpted textures and expressive details to stand out.
